natsemi.c / Scyld / Kernel 2.4.5

hi guys, i´ve got the fa311 and natsemi.c (and friends) from www.scyld.com worked perfectly for my 2.2.16 Kernel.

Now I'm switching to 2.4.5 and when I try to compile natsemi.c I get some errrors. (Structures not found, calling some functions which don't exist etc.)

BTW, pci-scan.c compiles perfectly on the new kernel, only natsemi.c cause problems. It says on scyld that the drivers are for Kernel 2.0.x and 2.2.x.

Does anybody know if there is a patch for natsemi.c so that it works with Kernel 2.4.x?? Or a different method to get it to run?

thx,
newb

Hi
Fa311 works with natsemi driver in my 2.4.2 kernel (DP83810 I think). Should be in 2.4.5 as well. Recompile with this in the kernel, and it'll start from boot.

hi, I compiled the kernel 2.4.5 myself (with xconfig), i didn't remember
seeing the natsemi driver being an option to compile. did i overlook
something or do i have to do something to make it compilable?

Hello
I'm at work, so can't check this.
In xconfig, the network device options, you need to enable networking obviously, I think the relevant button is under the ethernet 10mbs button/list. About half way down, there's a PCI and other cards option. If you select this, all the options below come to life, and it's about half way down. Select it (I put it into kernel, but you can module it if you want), recompile, and it should work.
