Hello again
I think my problem is bigger because my machine is
multyboot ( i have windows 98 and red hat 6.2 )
and in my windowsx devise manager i have disabled the cmi
sound blaster and i am using micro$oft sound system.
when i used sndconf i got en error durring the configuration , so i think i will have to invetigate more
about all of the subject of manualy configuration of sound cards on linux .
do you know of any good places that have guids about this subject ?

You can try any of the HowTo's on http://www.linuxdoc.org , or try http://www.opensound.com or http://www.alsa-project.org , those are usually good sites to go to.

Good luck.
