Greetings,

Occasionally I get unable to fill buffer, or unable to use sockets for a program that simulatess multiple clients (use a gig network card it can safely connect 1000). I'd love to be able to configure something to get the connection up to 2000 clients. I've had to alter the uname to get it to 1000, but when I push to 1100 or 1200 clients linux network gives up on me. Any suggestions of other things to configure? They are intel e1000 running on redhat 7.0 kernels. (I upgraded one box to 7.1 and actually got worse results!)

Thanks,

GhostBoot

You might want to try posting this to
linux-net@vger.kernel.org

They might know if its a limit somewhere in the code about maxing at 1000 concurrent sockets. Tell them which kernel you're using though!

Just a thought.

Jamie...
