I just installed winlinux 2000,and everything went fine until after I entered my name and password. It wants a command for starting,it says[banks2@a7s3f1 banks2$.]What do I do???
Thankz, help would be wonderful
I'm a little confused? If you've entered your username and password and you have a command prompt then that's Linux - your there...
Did you configure X during the installation? If not you might want to try something like XF86Setup then startx if the setup goes well. This will put you into a graphical Window's like system called X, also sometimes called X Windows.
Hope that answers you're question - if it doesn't post back and tell me where I misunderstood (its not uncommon!)
yep, your at the command line now, its like DOS, but better. startx will start the GUI if you did configure it.
not sure of commands, you can view the man pages for commands. www.linuxdoc.org is a good place to start as well for documentation purposes.
O,k I tried the startx and that didn't work,so I went to the man pages that's all greek to me.Tried the XF86Setup Said bad command. How do I configure it Help!!
