Question

Am attempting to use MRTG to monitor ethernet collisions on a Linux RedHat 6.1 box. Have noticed that while ethernet collisions are not part of the standard RFC MIB, they do appear in the Linux /usr/local/share/snmp/mibs/EtherLike-MIB.txt file, as an extention under the RFC1398.

However, 'snmpwalk localhost public' does not appear to display or access this mib.

So, how do I access ethernet collisions on an interface, and what OID would I use with MRTG. Any assistance would sure be appreciated!

Thanks,
Alan

Is snmpd running? Also what snmpd daemon are you running?

Yep, its running

Yeah, the deamon is running fine. I can access anything in the normal MIBs, such as data throughput. All of the OIDs displayed in the normal snmp-walk are accessable.

My question is what OID to use to access the 'EtherLike-MIB'

The deamon I'm running is the ucd-snmp-4.0.1

Thanks
