not everyone but----
some just are a-holes when you try to seek an answer
not everyone spent their teens years sitting in front of a moniter
some actually had a social life!
these snobs need to realize the ain't gods gift to you know what
I have been bashed too many times here-I quit
and those that have bashed me- F U and the horse you rode in on
not to be rude or anything, i answered the majority of your questions, you had about 10 of them and i don't remember being a punk, and i did remember seeing a lot of thank you's from you.
sorry you feel the way you do though.
hey everyone, don't be a punk when answering questions, we should make it so this a pleasurable experience for anyone new to linux or computers.
no question is a stupid question and doesn't make anyone stupid in asking, so if anyone is rude just because the person asking doesn't know even something simple, you don't belong here and maybe you should take a anger management control class and take your expertise elsewhere.
I don't follow. I've just read all the threads that you've participated in and wouldn't say that anyone has been rude or insulting to you...
I agree with Tricky that no question is a stupid question and would say that most people on the forum would feel the same. Afterall we all started in the same place - knowing nothing about Linux but wanting to know more. I think that even I've only managed to offend one person which is pretty good going for me - my dry sense of humour can get misinterpreted sometimes.

yeah i went thru all his posts and didn't see anything that would have offended me either.
i was icqd by some very very unfriendly people-saying they read my post on here(must of been afraid to post). sorry I left that out , but the rest that have replied on the post, yes you have been friendly
thanks!

That was nice of them, especially when they didn't post their views on the forum where other can comment too.
this is about the most frieindly message board i have ever run across, as for the icq, about all you can do with the crackpot posters is add them to your ignore list and move on.
My best guess is that someone took offense to the following (since that's the only place I found 'fantomlord' and 'ICQ' on the search...
Quote:
heck with fdisk, get partition magic 6-much much easier.
and if you are financialy disabled(like me ) there is a way to aquire said program-contact me if you have any questions icq <ICQ # Removed by mc9>.
So it would appear that you slagged fdisk and would rather promote a warez solution instead. The fact that some 'snob' chose to challenge the issue via private messaging is disturbing as that is the chicken-s*** way of doing things.
So will the ICQ 'bashers' please stand up and defend their actions, make their case? Unfortunately I would wager 'no'.

This is a great forum full of friendly people... but I know what he is referring to about computer snobs.
I see them at work, I see them online, I see them in person. I think just too many people get carried away with thinking that what they like and use is the best for everything and everybody.
Personally... I say let them use whatever they want. Sure I make recommendations when asked, but hell.. I make money supporting it all.
As far as level of knowledge, there are people who look down at others for not knowing the simplest things. I think thats a shame, but they are probably the types that would do it with anything they think they know it all about.. computers, cars, whatever.
After speaking to the originator of this post we have both decided to close the thread and consider the matter closed. Just to make a final point, he e-mailed me saying that he didn't have a problem with everyone here, just the person(s) who had attacked him on ICQ.

Just wanted to add that I agree with rshaw when he says "this is about the most frieindly message board i have ever run across". While it's sometimes easy to forget that everyone was a newbie at some point, I really do not see a lot of that here. Let's keep it that way. Thanks - your friendly admin
