Hello all.
I'm having a bit of a problem. I'm trying to install RH7 on a dual classic Pentium board (Soyo 5TH) and I've been having a devil of a time trying to get a mouse to work in X. Everything else works OK, but I have some weird problem with the serial ports on the board. They won't recognize the serial mouse. I've tried several and none work. Even NT didn't see the serial mouse, so I figure something's wrong with the board. I tried the PS/2 mouse header and a PS/2 mouse, but I must not have the right pin-outs, because that didn't work either.
My solution was to forgo all serial stuff until I can get an add-on card and try USB. This board has a 430HX chip on it (actually the 439HX) and it is capable of USB. I got a header and chucked it in. During setup of RH7 (text) when you set the settings for X, the mouse worked like a champ. It's a Logitech laser USB mouse. When I finished and rebooted, the first thing that happened was Kudzu wanted to uninstall the USB mouse. I agreed (like an idiot), and uninstalled it thinking that either Kudzu would come up again and reinstall it immediately after uninstalling it. Failing this, I figured that I could reinstall it in mouseconfig. Well, neither has worked. I'm frustrated because I chucked away a whole Saturday for jack bupkus, and it's now become a personal war.

So, does anyone out there have any ideas. I'm going to reinstall (I haven't done anything else to the system yet) as soon as I can. Should I do it in graphic mode? I know darn well I'm not going to let Kudzu uninstall it, but is there anything I can do short of reinstalling it to get the USB mouse back?
