ok what im doing is moving my hds around, well i hope so... i have 2 hds in my box right now...
'hda' has lilo installed on the mbr and has a windows partition, and a linux partition that is not really needed...
'hdb' holds / and /home in seperate partitions...
what i would like to do is take the first hd out and put it in another box.. i have two questions about this...
the first and most important is what do i need to do to lilo.conf? cuz when i remove my current 'hda', that will force 'hdb' to be 'hda'... so would changing all my 'hdb' entries in lilo to point at 'hda' work.. will that affect anything else on my box..
and the second question is.. what is the quickest way to install lilo on the mbr of the second hd?
i would do this by the normal 'trial and error' way of learning.. but my cdburner is dead and i have no way to back anything up!
