Question

I have recently installed corel Linux(don't laugh) onto my win98 machine. Looking through the system, I have access to some of the files on Win98. If I used Windows to download a linux driver for a video card and it came in a zip format, can I copy it from my Windows partition into Linux? At the moment I'm having touble configuring my modem for Linux and I just wanted to know if this option is available, however complicated and awkward it may sound!

Try mounting the dos partition with:

mount -t vfat /dev/hda1 /mnt

Then you should be able to handle the files on that partiction just as if they were in your linux environment.
If you get an error message that dos isn't supported by the kernel, you'll have to recompile it to support the msdos filesystem.
The /dev/hda1 should point to the partition where you have your dos. The "a" is the first drive on the IDE controller, with the "1" being the first partition on that drive.
