hi everybody!!
I'm trying to install majordomo in sun solaris (SunOS 5.7)...recently i've installed it in redhat linux successfully...but when i tried to untar the file majordomo-1.94.5.tar.gz with the command:
tar xvf majordomo-1.94.5.tar.gz
i got the error message:
tar : directory checksum error
how can i fix this?? any hints is welcome...THANKS!!
katana, you have a letter missing in your tar command. It should read:tar zxvf majordomo-1.94.5.tar.gz . Note I added a ' z '. The ' z ' tells tar to gunzip the file. ' x ' is for extract the files. ' v ' is for verbose. That means it prints out a lot of messages. ' f ' is to indicate that it should use the name following as the file to operate on.
