I'm running Mandrake 7.1 and I went into Drakconf to make a bootdisk. Log window tells me what is happening like formatting disk,copying image,creating filesystem etc but when I check it to see what it loaded I get an error saying kfm was unable to read disk.The bootdisk I got from Mandrake can be read from just fine.
When I logged out and logged back in as root to try again it said floppy was still mounted or floppy drive was busy.Anyone ever have this problem?

if you mount a floppy and then try and read it and close the app you are using to read the floppy before unmounting it,the floppy will remain as mounted by the system.You have to reopen (you were using kfm) and enter the floppy mount point (/mnt/floppy ?) and then unmount the floppy.I dont use Mandrake anymore but if I recall it makes a boot floppy with drakconf using the dd command,and the finished disk will not display its contents.You can get the same resualt by issuing
this command in a term.
eg:kernel is called vmlinuz
dd if=/boot/vmlinuz of=/dev/fd0 bs=1k

$ dd if=/boot/vmlinuz os=/dev/fd0 bs=1k

I'm not questioning your instructions.-I just dont have the best eyesight in the world.Once again,thanks for your reply.

you got it.just check your /boot or / directory to get the exact name of vmlinuz.
