I have setup NIS nearly succsessfully (on RH7), apart from 2 things:
on the client when i type ypcat passwd
I only get to see the user 'tmp' passwd entry, i don't get to see all the others in the passwd file.

secondly on server its not keeping the NIS domain name after a reboot, even though Ive added it to '/etc/sysconfig/network'

i can use use the command 'ypcat hosts' from the client and it lists the hosts file properly from the server.
every time i create a new user on the server, its not updateing the ypdatabase, even though iam running /usr/lib/ypinit -m and also restarting all the deamons..
