Cool whazup

just so happens i've got a project in the works, it's code name is "Wildebeast", and is geared toward optimizing your system by trimming the fat junk off of distros like red hat and mandrake. it is gonna use a default setup, which is easily configurable thru an extensible set of configuration utilities that centralize on a system-wide configurator. as new configuration utilities caome about- they will be accessible and integratable with the system-wide configurator.

the reason i'm doing this is because i'm hell-bent on getting linux to the desktop, in prime-time competition with windoze. mac is already going the way of gnome in mac os X, and the proprietary distro setup is dividing our ranks for commercial glory. i want money, like everyone else, but not for linux. it is free, and should remain free, and that includes anything written for the enhancement of the gut-workings of the OS. the only thing i could sleep at night making money on , concerning this, is the dummy utilities that essentially pull a windoze and hide the confusing stuff from inadept eyes.

unlike windoze, that does not mean gutting the functionality, but just offering it as an option in the installer. i want to bing the latest linux goodies to the desktop and show the world how much we can do and how little we are missing by being free-thinkers and generally cooler.

i have many AWESOME ideas, could use help, (like who couldn't?), and have done a lot of background work already. wanna collaborate? want to shoot the bull? hey, i'm game.

if you want to know more, email me. just to let you know, i am open-minded about new ideas and would not shoot down a feature because it doesn't fit into my 'grand vision' or anything, i can ride the tide, yo.

later.

"just one question: if your computer was being used to operate some life-support machine that was keeping you alive, and if it ever went off you would surely die...

... would you run Windoze?" :smash:
