Thumbs down

I first got into computers 15 years ago. I started out with DOS 3.1 (yes, I'm that old)

I've played around for my own knowledge with many different OS's and I've done tech support, both for ISP's and for major corporations.

In all the years, I definately have to say the Linux is the easiest thing that I have worked with. I run both Linux and Windows at home. My fiance (who 2 years ago didn't even know how to turn on a computer) will not even touch the windows machine anymore. I don't use it that often. Usually just to use Napster, which will be ending tomorrow sometime, or to do some writing. I say it is much easier to teach a person Linux, to whatever degree you want or they need, then it is to teach windows.

I think your right.....

You are probably right, it seems like Linux is easier to teach for a computer illiterate person. My mum is just getting into computers, and I have helped her to learn linux as a way of getting used to computers. I did try to teach her windows ME, but it just never happened.

I will admit, that if she tried to install Linux she wouldn't stand a chance, but the way she has picked up the basics has amazed me.
