I installed an LS-120 (SuperDisk) into a RedHat 6.1 server. Kudzu found the hardware in the reboot but now what? I understand that it might show up as a HD ie /dev/hd* but how do I know which one? The disk is formatted FAT and I need to keep it that way. Will Mcopy also work with a superdisk?
I have one but am not at my machine but I do believe you can look into your fstab file to find out what they called it. I think most of the time it is something like /dev/hdb since most of the time it is a slave to your primary hard drive.
so the mount would look like this:
mount /dev/hdb /mnt/floppy
but it all depends on what it named it accordingly to how you ahve it connected. i think it goes
hda = 1st IDE primary
hdb = 1st IDE secondary
hdc = 2nd IDE primary
hdd = 2nd IDE secondary
or something like that. if you can't figure it out i will give you my configuration tonight cause mine mounts okay with no problem.
This server has a raid controller and IDE CD-ROM drive. I looked in the FSTAB but did not see any entry that could be construed as an LS-120. I think I'll do an install on another computer with the drive installed from the beginning and see what happens.
Well its not going to chow up with LS-120 in the fstab, it should still be emulated as a Floppy, did you see anythign with even /dev/fd0 or anything like that. I know in mandrake it will supermount it and show up as it thinks it is a floppy drive.
