Ok First I wanted to thank everyone for the help in my previous post.I have it working great. (Win98 to dial LInux to surf) Now my next project. I live in the sticks, believe it or not we don't have the luxuries of most people, in fact we will be finally getting Cable Modems at the end of next month. (which I already schduled for an appointment) Anyways my question is can I have the Modem come into linux then out to 2 other pc's? and will they beanle to use the cable modem.(Win98se) I already have 2 nic cards in the server and 1 4pt netgear hub. I tried to install the 2nd nic yesterday and blew up the network settings and could not get back on the internet through the win98 machine. Right now the linux box is getting everything through dhcp. should I set the second card to do the same? The Cable modem will run every thing through dhcp. (My Friend has the same company)

you can easily let win machines get on the net using masquerading with ipchains. You need the feature enabled in the kernel and some chains.Try pmfirewall for an easy firewall/masquerade setup. You can get it HERE
My cable connection relies on the fact that the nic the service tech installed is recognised by @home.You maybe able to use 1 of yours,if they say no to that and want to install one,do yourself a favor and say NO to a usb one.Get PCI,and for ease of install make shure your puter boots to windows by default the day the person gets there.
