Okay:
A. I screwed with my bios when my keyboard wouldnt load, and now linux wont load.
B. I dont care, i dont want linux anymore cause i cant get my sound card or modem to work with it.
C. I have 2 gig of harddrive space wasting on linux.
D. I dont have a "non expired copy" of Windows 98 (BTW ITS *%^$&% (Watch it!) THAT THE CD EXPIRES! I PAID FOR THAT!) sorry... anyway
How do i uninstall linux and give the 2 gig back to windows, while keeping windows. Im guessing this is utterly imposible without formating If so can i just fix my bios and somehow tranfer 1.5 gig in linux over to windows?

How can you be mad at Linux, it didn't do anything to you?
Well it sounds like you have issues not relating to Linux, but the real problem is that someone didn't check their hardware before installing a OS that they apparently didn't know anything about. Well, never heard of a cd expiring, did it go sour but anyways, did you read your Microsoft Lisence agreement, you paid for it but don't own it. Really the only thing you need to do is fdisk the linux partition and then reformat it for windows.

Good Luck.

BTW, you should not get mad at Linux for your problems with sound or modem. If you tell us what they are, like brand, model etc, they might work, and you just don't know it.

Okay, you can't get into you Linux at all right? What type of errors are you getting when you try to boot into it? If you get a LILO prompt, try typing this in there:
Linux 1

If this gets you into a bash prompt within linux, then from there you can fdisk and reformat or wipe out your linux partition.

I am not sure if you can do a fdisk within windows to wipe out a linux partition. Someone correct me if I am wrong, I have never wiped out a linux partition with fdisk in windows.
I think your CD's are expiring because you didn't register your copies of Windows or Office. I only heard a little on what they are trying to come up with. I only heard they have that with Office, never actually heard it with Windows.

Let us know though!

Boot to a Windows98 startup floppy.
Run FDISK and remove the "non-dos" partition that is your Linux partition(s).
Reboot to the Win98 floppy and run FDISK /MBR to repair the boot record.

Good Luck

how can someone install linux without knowing what fdisk is? wow....

fdisk is a tool that will help you remove and create partions on a harddrive, your windows partion is FAT while your linux are the NON DOS partions....

I've never heard of Office cd's expiring unless they were trial copies. If so, there is a work around on that, but it has to be done BEFORE it expires.

What did you change in you BIOS that screwed everything up?? If you can remember that, try going in and changing it back.

As for the other, how can you load any operating system without knowing what fdisk is??

You don't necessaryily need Fdisk to install an OS apart from windows, and how many computers come with the windows installation already setup?
Mandrake allows you to use it's own partition tool to sort out your HD, and various other distro's come with other tools to do the job.

Stimm is right that you should be looking for an area which says 'non dos partition' and you want to delete it. Or you may want to delete everything if you have a time trial version of windoze? Then re-install.
