Hi,

i'm completely new to this - only installed yesterday ( rh 7.0 ) - and am trying to connect to my isp. without making this too long winded, I've tried to set it up on pppd. The modem dials and everything seems fine to "Connect ppp0 <--> /dev/modem" and then i get

LCP: timeout sending config requests
Connection terminated
Receive serial link is not 8 bit clean
Problem: all had bit 7 set to 0
hangup (SIGHUP)
Exit

can anyone point me in the right direction ( or suggst an ISP for the uk that provides connections scripts? )
Many thanks for your help

Drew
