I posted something the other day in response
to somebody else's question but I think I should
have actually started a thread - sorry for the
duplication!
My quesstion is:
I want to run a large simulation on an
Intel machine and I was wondering just how
much memory I could access in one process?
The machine is a 4 CPU Xenon machine with
4 Gb of RAM and I was planing on using
a 2.4 kernel with gcc and glibc.
Is it true that I can only use 2 Gb -- that's
what somebody told me, but they're not exactly
Linux gurus! If this is so, does BSD of Solaris
on Intel get me around these limitations perhaps?
Thanks
Shane
