Question

I have two linux 6.2 machines. I can ftp, telnet, and rlogin between the machines, but rcp gives me permission denied error message. Any help in resolving this is greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Shailendra Singh

rcp will not prompt you for a password. It will try Kerberos authorization first and then try rhosts. Do you have either of these setup?

I created oracle userid with same password on both machines, and then created .rhosts file in /home/oracle directory on both machines.

Content of /home/oracle/.rhosts file on machine1 is:
machine2

Content of /home/oracle/.rhosts file on machine2 is:
machine1

Thanks,
Shailendra Singh
