What you have there is a winmodem, which was meant to be used in windows only. Very recently Linux drivers started popping up for winmodems. To see if yours is supported visit http://www.linmodems.org. Last time I looked I know http://www.o2.net/~gromitkc/winmodem.html had a conexant kernel module, but you would have to look to see if your model is supported.

vixy27, have a look at the thread called 'Internal Modem -am I doomed?' in the newbie section. Te problems there are many and it may help you. If you cannot find the driver you need for your modem then you very stuck, until one is written. However, if you can find one then downbload it and read the the Linmodem Howto at http://www.linuxdoc.org/HOWTO/Linmodem-HOWTO.html

You need to read it throughly to understand what is involved. If you need more help then post again.

I have just searched the page with all the modems listed, and it doesn't look good. Only one search for conexant produced a ?? by the side. All the rest said winmodem. However, if you can get driver it may be possible.
