kernel upgrade mandrake 7.2

i am trying to upgrade from kernel 2.2.17 to 2.4.3. When i try to make bzImage i get an error and it doen't make the image file. Any suggestions?

For any question it is essential that you put in the appropriate forum, you will find that you will get alot more responses.

Anyway, what is the error you get? It may be because you are trying to compile a Kernel which is too big.

it shouldn't be too big i only added support for device i have. it get's close to the end and tries to find a file called piggy.o, and says no such file or directory.

Is there a file called piggy.o? Have a search and see if there is. Other than that did you do a clean compile (ie use: make clean during the stages?)
