I'm using SSH to control my server, but i want to use telnet too. I try to login, (root) ask for pass word, and it gives incorrect login. Do i need to specify a different pass. for telnet? thx guys.

You cannot login remotley to a Linux machine as root, you have to login as a regular user and then you can su into root from there.
