samba upgrade

good day !!

i have my working samba 2.0.7 version, i want to upgrade it to the latest version, should i configure it again, compiling the new version ? or is there any upgrading binary source or do i have to download the latest versions ?
any suggestions, recommendations are well appreciated.

I upgraded by downloading the lastest tar ball, then ran the following:

./configure
make
make install

From there, I started samba with the latest binaries. It was a matter of making sure my smb.conf had the right configuration and everything else fell in place.
