I am having problem configure X-win32 using XDMCP to talk with my RH7.1 linux. I like the idea to have gnome desktop (or Xwindows) on my Win98, and I have dowloaded and confgured X-win32. I can it to run ok getting linux xterm work on Win98. But xterm is just a x-term, not a full gnome desktop. What described on their website, using XDMCP looks more appealing to me, see the pictures there:

Here is some info about my systems configuration, and actions taken:
Redhat 7.1, startx configured and running fine on Linux box,
modifications done on RH7.1:
/etc/sysconfig/desktop: DESKTOP="GNOME"
/etc/inittab: x:5:respawn:/etc/X11/prefdm -nodaemon ( no change, remains RH7.1 default)
/etc/X11/xdm/xdm.conf: (RH7.1 default, no modification);
/etc/X11/xdm/Xaccess: (tried both * to allow any host and just ip address, cannot see any difference with my result)
/etc/X11/gdm/gdm.conf: [xdmcp]: Enable=1; [debug] debug=1
/etc/X11/xdm/xdm-config: (RH7.1 default, no change made).
The machine auto starts following system services upon boot: crond, gdm, httpd, keytable, lpd, network,rexec, rhnsd, sendmail, sbm, sshd, syslog,wu-ftpd,xfs,xinetd. Anything else I should start automatically as system service?
On Windows 98 machine, if I configure Win-32 to talk with Linux using rexec - then yes I can get xterm window, xterm works but backspace key doesn't work no matter how you re-map the keyboard.
My goal is to get a full bloom gnome desktop on Win98 - X-win32 seems require XDMCP to get gnome on Windows machine, and I have tried use query(known ip), or broadcast and multicast using XDMCP, but all attempts fails - results were that it just opens a Xwindow but do not get anything login prompt or linux icons. Could someone shed some lights and let me know where I should start to trouble shoot?
I have referred some online resources, but the HOW-TOs are either too old for RH7.1, I see very few updated ones:

On my RH7.1, I do not see any error messages generated
in /etc/log/ All were normal messages and I don't see anything wrong. So, I am quite lost at this moment. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!
